INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS AND TALENT: MANAGING THE FLOW OF STEM WORKERS

Funder: Alfred P. Sloan Foundation

This grant supported ISIM's program of research, reports, expert roundtables and public briefings on best practices related to current and future management of both temporary and permanent programs for immigration of skilled workers to the United States. The project focused on three interconnected issues: impacts of the recession on foreign students, trends in employment of workers in science; technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields; and challenges in the management of temporary work programs and innovations in numerical admissions. For this project and others like it, ISIM organizes public briefings where cutting-edge research is presented to immigration specialists.
