Congratulations: Winners of Video Competition

Georgetown University winners with Al Trenk, The Exodus Institute Founder and Katharine Donato, Director, Institute for the Study of International Migration Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University.

 

Winners:
Mikaela Rear
Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS), School of Foreign Service
A graduate student in MSFS, with a concentration in international development. Currently a program intern at Refugees International. Before Georgetown, she was a community organizer for domestic political campaigns and volunteered in humanitarian settings in the Philippines, Greece, and Mexico. Her video project builds upon a paper she wrote on December 2018 on resettlement and integration of Vietnamese refugees in the United States in Professor Anne Richard’s class.

Nour Laswi
MA Arab Studies, School of Foreign Service
A graduate student in Arab Studies in SFS. Interested in refugee crisis management and humanitarian aid (someone who wrote that it “is essential to let people and the international community know that refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants are human beings” and that this video project is a response to Trump’s propaganda of migrants stealing jobs and building a wall.
