ISIM Affiliates Participate in Symposium on International Responses to Migration

ISIM Affiliates Dr. Marisa O. Ensor and Dr. Jessica Anderson participated in a panel on “International Responses and Solutions to the Global Refugee Crisis,” part of a Symposium entitled “Immigration and Ideology: International Responses to Migration.”   

Held at the University of Virginia’s School of Law in Charlottesville, VA, on February 20th, 2018, the Symposium addressed the causation factors of current immigration patterns, the adequacy of existing legal systems to govern refugee resettlement, and the current state of immigration law and policy in the United States and around the world.

The Panel on “International Responses and Solutions to the Global Refugee Crises,” to which Drs. Ensor and Anderson contributed two invited papers. explored normative and empirical dimensions of the global refugee crisis. The New York Declaration for Human Rights and the U.N. Global Compact on Refugees served as starting points for the discussion.
