In 2019/2020 Fulbright Senior Scholar at Georgetown University.

Izabella is an Associate Professor at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and Deputy Director of the Centre for Migration Studies. Her interest include anthropology of migration, medical anthropology and studies on memory. 

She was awarded doctoral degree at the Central European University in Budapest in 2002, MA degree at the Catholic University of Lublin in 1996. She received scholarships at the University of Edinburgh, the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington D.C., the Institute of Human Sciences in Vienna and the Center Marc Bloch in Berlin.

Izabella carried out ethnographic research on foreigners in Poznań, access to medical care and experiences related to the treatment of Polish female migrants in London, Barcelona and Berlin as well as migration of nurses. She led team grant on the migration of women between Poland and Norway (2015-2019). Presently she conducts research in the Horizon 2020 project on "Norms and values in the European migration and refugee crisis. NoVaMigra" (2018-2021), in particular on "Value agents and their practices in civil society". 

In Washington D.C. she will conduct research on access to health care and health-related practices of recent European migrants in the USA. 

Izabella initiated and co-organized educational and training projects: "Who asks, does not err. Let's talk about refugees", "Workshops on migrants and refugees ". She co-organized Migrant Info Point in Poznań (a support center for migrants), and cooperates with organizations working for diversity and multicultural education.
