Sinait Sarfino
Sinait Sarfino is a South Sudanese American with a passion for migration/refugee issues and conflict resolution. She received an undergraduate degree from Miami University in Diplomacy and Global Politics and East Asian Languages and Cultures with a concentration in Chinese. During her time in university, she was an involved student, holding executive positions in multiple organizations including the African Students Union and the Black Student Action Association. Post-graduation, she worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as an intern, staff assistant, and legislative correspondent and aide. She is currently serving as a Fulbright Teaching Assistant in Kinmen, Taiwan for the 2023-24 academic year. Her background as a refugee has greatly influenced her desire to pursue the MIMR degree program. Furthermore, as a Rangel fellow and a future foreign service officer, she plans to use her degree to advance refugee and migration issues.
