Abdul Wahid Gulrani
Assistant Professor of Sociology
Dr. Abdul Wahid Gulrani is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Young Afghan Scholar with a distinguished academic background and extensive research experience in sociology, National Security, Terrorism, Peace, and Conflict resolution, quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Currently, he is a Visiting Scholar at The George Washington University- Elliott School of International Affairs and George Mason University- Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution, and he is also a Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at Afghanistan Roshan Online University.
For more than two years, Dr. Gulrani was actively involved as a member of the Peace Education Steering Committee, where responsibilities included teaching and Research of peace and conflict resolution in the faculties of Herat University Supported by the Peace Studies Association (HUPSA) and USIP.
Dr. Gulrani has conducted research and worked in the field of peace and conflict in Afghanistan for over 6 years. Currently, he is working on two research projects titled: Narratives of Collapse: Qualitative Perspectives on the Social and Cultural Factors Involved in Afghanistan's Government Downfall in 2021 and Scrutinizing the Violence Experienced by Afghan Women During the Taliban Reign (2021-2024).
