Yu-Hsiang (Jackson) Wu
Yu-Hsiang (Jackson) Wu is a Master in International Migration and Refugees (MIMR) ’25 candidate concentrating on Migration Analysis. His work explores the roles of race, nationality, and gender play in labor migration with focuses on transnational labor in Asia and US immigration policies.
Jackson earned his B.A. from Brandeis University, where he studied Anthropology and International and Global Studies. His undergraduate research investigates how challenges faced by Filipino domestic workers in Taiwan can lead to cancer incidence.
Jackson also works closely with non-governmental organizations in improving migrant labor rights in Taiwan. He runs Open Box, a non-profit initiative based in Taiwan that offers workshops and holds lectures for the youth to raise awareness of migrant workers' rights.
